Based on the Magic School Bus books, this course allows students to explore the world around them with a microscope, delve into germs, and learn about the human body.

Students will learn about the history of the microscope, explore the different parts and learn how to use a microscope. Young Scientists will make slides of water droplets, plant parts, textile fibers, different types of paper and crystals! This course comes with a microscope, blank slides, coverslips, tweezers, collecting vial, 20 colorful experiment cards, prepared slides of fungi and algae, and a data notebook to record observations.

Students will grow bacteria and fungi, test antibiotics, make a fungus bubble, explore antibiotics, grow mold, wake up fungi, cultivate bacteria in yogurt, and use yeast to inflate a balloon! Students will also learn about the anatomy and physiology of the different organ systems through fun and creative experiments and activities such as recreating the human body with cling-on window stickers, building a 17-inch plastic human skeleton, matching fun facts on a poster, making a lung model, measuring a pulse, dilating pupils, exploring touch receptors, fingerprinting, learning about teeth enamel, making a ball and socket joint, and more! The highlight of this exploration is the large plastic human body skeleton that students will put together, label, and display.
