Beginning Guitar Grades 2 - 4 & Grades 5 - 8

A Six-Week Guitar Course taught by Leah Ross on Thursdays starting October 6th in the Arma Dei Academy Music Room
10/6, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17

3:30 pm – 4:20 pm
4:30 pm- 5:15 pm
In the Beginner’s Guitar Class, students will:
• Learn the string names and how to tune the instrument
• Learn chord progressions on guitar, enabling them to play a variety of praise, folk and classical songs
• Learn how to count and strum in 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures
• Improve their vocal sound and quality as they sing while playing (optional!)
• Experiment with note-picking and chord-strumming

Students are asked to bring a guitar in a protective case to school each Thursday. I have three guitars and will be able to loan two of them if needed as backup instruments. (If you have a guitar to donate, please let me know!) Students need NO musical background to take this class, and it is designed for the beginner, or for those who have up to one year of previous instruction in guitar. This is a great way for you and your student to make a decision about whether to continue with future guitar lessons.

3-D printing is the process for making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, typically by laying down many successive thin layers of a material called filament. Student learn a computer aided design software program (CAD), (Tinkercad or Blender) and design a model that will be useful for a specific task. Using a 3-D printer, the model will then come to life as a 3-dimensional object. Parents are invited to the Project Showcase, on the final day of camp.
