Mr. Stephen Taylor
Mr. Stephen TaylorIncoming Head of School

Stephen Taylor will be joining our community as Head of School on July 1, 2017. He currently lives in Corpus Christi, TX, along with his wife Emily and two children, Ellena and Corin. He loves the outdoors, from snowboarding to canoeing, and is a voracious reader. His favorite place to camp is in the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota.

Mr. Taylor comes to us as an experienced leader and administrator with a passion for classical Christian education. For the past five years, he's been the Principal of the Schools of Logic & Rhetoric at Annapolis Christian Academy (ACA), an ACCS accredited PK-12 school. In his ten years as an educator, he's taught a combination of english, history, and computer classes to grades 6 - 12. He has also organized numerous clubs, retreats, and class trips.

During Mr. Taylor's tenure at ACA, he oversaw programmatic growth and improvement in a number of areas. Key accomplishments included revising the curriculum, introducing band and theater, leading the steering committee for ACCS re-accreditation and helping design the master campus expansion plan. He also worked closely with teachers to re-focus the School of Logic towards age-appropriate curriculum, resulting in increased student satisfaction and retention.

He earned his B.A. at Gordon College, majoring in English Language & Literature and Secondary Education. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was also recognized as an A.J. Gordon Scholar. The highlight of his undergrad years was studying art history in Orvieto, Italy for a semester. Mr. Taylor also holds an M.Ed. in Technology in Education from Lesley University and teacher certification from the Association of Classical & Christian Schools.

Mrs. Robi Marshall

Co-founder, former Curriculum Director and AP English teacher at Coram Deo Academy, Robi A. Marshall joins us from the Marshall Education Group, a company providing innovative solutions for classical and Christian schools.Mrs. Robi Marshall brings 34 years of experience to administrators, teachers, parents and students. Active in the education field since 1976, her resume includes launching successful Christian schools, assisting in the renaissance of the classical Christian Movement, and innovating new programs within existing classical schools. Having spoken at over one hundred public forums explaining the depth of and necessity for classical education, she regularly trains classical Christian teachers.

Mrs. Robi Marshall is a popular speaker at Women in the Church events, Homeschooling and Christian School conferences; speaking on a diverse slate of topics including the arts, understanding the brain, self-education and classical pedagogy.

Firmly believing the Latin proverb, Cum docemus discismus, While we teach, we learn - Mrs. Robi Marshall remains passionate about cultivating a comprehensive liberal arts education.

Mrs. Dina Ogg, BS

Mrs. Dina Ogg, raised in West Virginia, loves mountains and calling Colorado home. Dina received her Bachelors in Business Administration from Marshall University and has a diverse background in owning two small businesses, working for the Federal Government, being a stay-at-home-mom and working in Christian Education.

Dina enjoys working with parents and loves children. She is excited to help Arma Dei grow to serve more children and parents in our local community.

Dina has three teenagers and knows it takes a Village to raise children. She feels blessed to be a part of the greater Kingdom of God, here at Arma Dei Academy.

Mrs. Sally Butler, BS

Mrs. Sally Butler, born in Cape Town, South Africa, and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oral Roberts University. Upon graduation, Mrs. Sally Butler worked as a substitute teacher and then on board a prominent cruise line as Youth Activities Director for over five years. She then moved to Colorado Springs to work as the Office Manager for her brother’s outdoor company and there met her husband, Rob. The newly married couple moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where Mrs. Butler worked as a fourth grade teacher at Resurrection Christian School before transitioning into a full-time mom and home-school teacher to her three precious children.

Mrs. Butler has served on short-term mission trips and has a heart for sharing Jesus with others. She loves children and teaching and is honored for the privilege to be working as the Administrative Assistant at Arma Dei Academy.

Mrs. Katheryn Pranno, MS

Mrs. Katheryn Pranno brings a wide variety education and experience to her position at Arma Dei Academy. Her undergraduate work was in Music Education and her Masters in Curriculum Development. Teaching led to other opportunities in technical training and web development. Craving to use her talents in education and technology in a ministry setting, she was hired by Cherry Hills Community Church as Director of Technology and Web Services. She was on staff there for many years before moving to Rocky Mountain Community Church, a church she and her husband, Anthony, planted in 2007. She served as the Children's Ministry Director & Communications Director at RMCC.

Anthony and Katheryn have three wonderful children that attend Arma Dei and she is passionate about excellent, Christ-centered, classical education.

Megan Billinger
Megan BillingerAssistant Director of Communications

Mrs. Megan Billinger received a Bachelors in Computer Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Denver. After working for Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Solutions as a project manager for Department of Defense implementations, she became a stay-at-home mom and later home schooled her children. Eager to contribute to the work being done at Arma Dei Academy, she has joined the staff to assist in all things technical.

Megan and her husband, Erik, have three children that attend Arma Dei. She enjoys playing golf, crossfitting, and spending time with her family. She is passionate about raising up the next generation to praise and serve God.

Mrs. Nancy Collins, BA

Mrs. Collins degree in Education is from the University of Toledo in Ohio. She has extensive training in teaching literacy to young children. She has served as a Teacher Trainer for the Direct Instruction Method of teaching Reading. Mrs. Collins has over 35 years of experience in the classroom and is beginning her fifth year at Arma Dei Academy.
Brittany Sommer, BA
Brittany Sommer, BAKindergarten Enrichment Teacher

Ms. Brittany Sommer is a native to Colorado. She grew up in Highlands Ranch and attended schools in the area. After graduation she went to the University Of Northern Colorado in Greeley and received her B.A. in Early Childhood Education. She has always had a passion for teaching and leading children to God.

Brittany likes spending her free time outdoors or reading a good book. Brittany loves the Colorado Mountains and enjoys skiing during the winter and hiking during the summer. She is very excited to be back in Highlands Ranch close to her parents and two older sisters and is grateful for the opportunity to teach the Word of God to students.

Mrs. Cindy Holden, BA

Mrs. Holden is a native of Colorado, but spent fifteen years on the east coast, where both she and her husband taught in Christian schools. The beautiful, purple mountains’ majesty of Colorado called the Holden family back to “God’s country” four years ago. They are blessed to have their adult sons and their families nearby.

Mrs. Holden is a graduate of Eastern University in Wayne, PA with a BA in organizational management. Her love of children and passion for teaching through a biblical worldview lens, led her away from the business sector and into early childhood education. Mrs. Holden comes to Arma Dei Academy with twenty-five years of classroom experience ranging from preschool to the fourth grade. While in PA she also served two years as director of an area preschool. She has extensive experience using Classical curricula and methodologies and has taught first grade in local Christian schools for ten years. Mrs. Holden feels blessed to be a part of the Arma Dei Academy faculty.

Mrs. Kara Rainey, BA

Mrs. Kara Rainey is a second generation Colorado native. She ventured to the east coast for her college studies at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and enjoyed studying abroad as she earned her BA in History and International Studies. After graduating, she worked for a prison ministry in Virginia before coming back to Colorado to be with family and get an education in politics working at Governor's Owen's Office of Innovation and Technology.

Teaching has always been her passion. In addition to teaching at her local church she has been privileged to teach her own three children classically through the Veritas Press Diploma Program for the past three years. When not teaching, Kara enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and children doing every activity possible in the beautiful Colorado outdoors. She is blessed to be able to teach second grade here at Arma Dei Academy.

Miss Lizzie Bolton, BA

Miss Lizzie Bolton is looking forward to teaching 3rd Grade at Arma Dei Academy this year. This is her second year at Arma Dei Academy and she is eager to work alongside an incredible community of teachers, parents, and students.

Miss Bolton received her B.A. from the University of Northern Colorado in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Language Arts.

Miss Bolton is a native of Colorado and is blessed to have a supportive family nearby. She has a younger brother and sister and a dog, Macy. In her free time, Miss Bolton enjoys being in the wonderful outdoors, as well as spending time with family and friends. She is very excited to work alongside a community who is eager to seek and glorify God!

Mrs.Verity Schramm, BA
Mrs.Verity Schramm, BA4th Grade Teacher

Mrs.Verity Schramm obtained her BA in Economics from Occidental College and California State University, Northridge and continued with graduate credential work in education. After graduating, Mrs. Schramm worked for a non-profit economic development firm in Los Angeles as a writer for multiple business publications.

She and her husband have spent the last 10 years growing the family business by two states and the family tree by two boys. They have participated in several church ministries, including youth, college and career groups.

Mrs. Schramm and her husband are enthusiastic supporters of the classical Christian education movement. As a recent homeschooling mother and now 4th grade teacher, she is committed to equipping future men and women for the work that God intends for them. She wholeheartedly agrees with Frederick Douglass, emancipated slave and statesman, that “it is easier to build strong children, than repair broken men.”

Kendra Owsley, BA
Kendra Owsley, BA4th Grade Teacher

In pursuit of her calling as educator, Kendra Owsley earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Interdisciplinary Studies for Elementary Teachers at the University of Northern Colorado. She also completed an endorsement and some graduate coursework in Linguistically Diverse Education. Her instructional experience involves teaching third grade, special education (K-5, high school), and English Language Development (K-5) in the Fort Collins Poudre School District.

Kendra nurtures enthusiasm about leadership, service, and learning with her students. She focuses on building character and growing strong men and women who glorify (reflect) their Creator. She enjoys integrating a Biblical worldview in all subjects and turns her students to the hope of the gospel throughout the day.

Rachel Senia, BS
Rachel Senia, BS4th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Rachel Senia has spent almost all of her life on the West Coast, mostly in California, but most recently in Washington state. She grew up attending Christian schools, coming to believe what Romans 12:1 says that the life of the Christian is a battle of the mind as it needs to constantly be transformed. She believes that a classical, Christian education is one of the best ways to keep from being “conformed to this world” for the purpose of glorifying God. Mrs. Senia graduated from The Master’s College with a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences, and she and her husband have spent over 10 years teaching in Christian schools. She looks forward to partnering with the families of Arma Dei Academy as they take on the most difficult and precious task of training their children.

Mrs. Senia and her husband have only recently moved to Colorado with their two children.

Mrs. Jen Wenger, BA

Mrs. Wenger has her BA in Elementary Education from Grove City College in Grove City, PA and her graduate work in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Delaware. After graduating, Mrs. Wenger taught fourth and fifth grades in the Avon Grove School District in West Grove, Pennsylvania where she served as the grade level chairperson.

Mrs. Wenger and her husband, Ashley, have been married for 19 years and have three beautiful daughters. Mrs. Wenger spent 13 years raising their three girls and supporting her husband's educational and professional pursuits. During that time she was a children's education leader for several church ministries and volunteered frequently in her children's schools.

In 2011, Mrs Wenger returned to teaching professionally. She is committed to classical education and desires to see all children learn through a Biblical worldview. Mrs. Wenger, as well as her family, are thrilled to be part of Arma Dei Academy. When not teaching, Mrs. Wenger is passionate about mentoring and encouraging strong marriages and healthy families.

School of Logic (6th - 8th Grade)

Mr. Warren Astler, MA
Mr. Warren Astler, MAScience Teacher

Mr. Warren Astler is entering his 27th year as a teacher serving at both the elementary and middle school level. He taught third grade for ten years and middle school for nine years at a local Christian school helping develop their middle school science program. During the past seven years, Mr. Astler continued his work in the middle school by teaching science, technology, video production and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) courses. He served as the STEM coordinator at a science-based charter school and helped develop the technology program at a public middle school.

Warren graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in Elementary Education and earned his MA degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado at Denver. He also holds a 7th-12th Grade Science Endorsement from the State of Colorado.

Mrs. Holly Cory, BA
Mrs. Holly Cory, BABible (8th Grade), History (6th Grade)

Mrs. Cory comes from a family of teachers and by the time she entered college she knew she wanted to teach as well. She loves to learn and is passionate about helping students discover the joy of learning.

Mrs. Cory has been involved with formal education for more than 30 years. She graduated with a BA in Interdisciplinary studies from Covenant College in Lookout Mt., TN.

She, her husband and four children moved to Littleton, Colorado to plant a new church. As the church began to grow she returned to teaching for the next 24 years at Denver Christian School-Highlands Ranch campus. During that time she taught K-6 Physical Education, middle school core subjects and many different electives.

When she is not teaching she is hiking, paddle boarding or spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Mr. Aaron Denlinger, Ph.D
Mr. Aaron Denlinger, Ph.DLatin Teacher

Dr. Aaron Denlinger was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania. He holds degrees from Colorado Christian University (BA in History), Westminster Seminary California (MA in Theological Studies), and the University of Aberdeen (PhD in Church History). After completing his doctoral studies, Dr. Denlinger taught Classical Latin and Church History for four years at the University of Aberdeen in northeastern Scotland. More recently he has served as Professor of Church History and Historical Theology at Reformation Bible College in Sanford, Florida, where he taught Ecclesiastical Latin among other subjects. He is the author or editor of several books on early modern theology, and has also translated several Latin works for publication, including John Calvin's De vita hominis Christiani (On the Life of the Christian) and a catechism on the divine covenants and sacraments by Robert Rollock, the first principal of Edinburgh University (d. 1599).

Dr. Denlinger met and married his wife Louise while living in Scotland. Together they have three children--Kaitrin, Geneva, and Austin--and a slightly neurotic but much loved dog named Oakley.

Mrs. Amy Gonzales, MS

Mrs. Gonazales was born in Lubbock, Texas but moved to Austin when she was two months old. After living there for nine years her family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma for 2 years and then Thousand Oaks, California where she finished middle and high school. After graduating she attended Oklahoma State University, following in her parents footsteps. She graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership, options in Special Education. While at OSU she met her husband, Mark, who is a civil engineer.

After graduating Amy took a year off to intern with Campus Crusade for Christ. She has always had a heart for missions. She has done mission work in Mexico, South Africa, Uganda, and Ethiopia. She is excited to be teaching at Arma Dei Academy.

Mrs. Karen Hein, BA
Mrs. Karen Hein, BAHumanities Teacher

Mrs. Karen Hein recently moved to Colorado from California and will be teaching our School of Logic (6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Students). Mrs. Hein graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Journalism and Marketing. She worked in public relations for several high-tech companies before retiring to become a full-time mom.

Mrs. Hein home-schooled her two sons for six years using a classical Christian approach. Two of those years included teaching literature, grammar, writing and history in a private Christian home-school co-op.

For the last four years, Mrs. Hein taught courses in literature, writing, grammar, history and geography to various students ranging from 2nd grade through high school. A registered IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing) instructor, Mrs. Hein has a passion for literature, writing, grammar and history and is enthusiastic in sharing it with her students.

Mrs. Jen Hoos, BA

Jennifer Hoos received her B.A. in History from the Master's University in Santa Clarita, California and studied Elementary Education at Biola University.

Jen was introduced to classical Christian education in the 1990's and developed The Classical Christian Schooling Network website to assist teachers in small classical schools and homeschools. She and her husband helped start two classical Christian schools, where she taught grammar, composition, literature and history to secondary students.

Her love of education has taken her to Oxford, England where she learned about the inculcation of virtue at the Oxbridge Conference, sponsored by the C.S. Lewis Foundation. Jen loves to learn and is blessed with the opportunity to partner with parents and teachers in training the next generation of God-honorers at Arma Dei Academy.

Naomi Toews, BS
Naomi Toews, BSBible (7th Grade), Algebra/Geometry (8th Grade)

Miss Naomi Toews has recently moved to Colorado from her hometown of Hesston, Kansas. Miss Toews earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Tabor College, a Christ-centered liberal arts college where she had the chance to participate in many aspects of campus life from student led worship and choir to service trips and mentoring. After graduating Miss Toews taught kindergarten for 3 years.

In response to a sense of God's invitation, Miss Toews left her teaching position and spent 9 months training and serving alongside a church plant in Thailand. Miss Toews is passionate about helping people find hope in Christ and learn to live in the fullness of all that God has created them for. She is also excited about understanding people and how they learn and grow and believes that classical education effectively draws upon the strengths of children at each age.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, exploring nature, and curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. Miss Toews is excited to serve the families and staff at Arma Dei and to continue her own education at Denver Seminary.

Art, Music & Physical Education

Mrs. Lani Whitley, BA
Mrs. Lani Whitley, BAArt Teacher (1st - 8th Grade)

Mrs. Whitley has a degree in Art, with an emphasis in illustration, from Cal State University Fullerton. She has loved art her whole life and still remembers the thrill of a new tin of watercolors or box of crayons from her childhood years!

Her teaching experience includes 10 years with Monart School of the Arts in Greenwood Village and four additional years at the same location with Artful Journey Fine Arts School. She also spent 2 years teaching art for Heritage Elementary School in Highlands Ranch. "I am very excited about the opportunity to work with fellow teachers and students who possess the desire to educate to glorify God. I am also glad to embrace the Classical Christian Educational philosophy of teaching and apply it to our learning experience in the art room."

Alexandra Parker

    Mrs. Leah Ross, MA
    Mrs. Leah Ross, MAMusic Teacher

    Mrs. Leah Ross was born on the island of Malta and raised in Tripoli, Libya and Casper, Wyoming. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Louisiana Tech University with a B.A. in Elementary Education, followed by an M.A. in Elementary Education. She and her husband Kevin spent 8 years in Columbia, Maryland, where she taught Kindergarten and Fifth Grade. Leah also served as the Gifted and Talented Resource teacher for her school for two years.

    After having their first two children, she and Kevin wanted to move west to be closer to extended family so they moved to Littleton, Colorado. Their oldest son is at CSU, their daughter attends Colorado Christian University, and their youngest son attends Valor Christian High School.

    Leah and her husband have a deep passion for international missions, and they co-lead the Czech Focus Ministry at their church. Leah also teaches at the Children’s Music Academy of Colorado. Leah is thrilled to be the Arma Dei Academy Music Teacher!

    Abel Caceres
    Abel CaceresPhysical Education Teacher (4th - 8th Grade)

    Mr. Cáceres comes to Arma Dei with over 15 years coaching everything from Pee Wee, Pop Warner, Grammar School and High School football to U.S. Marine Corps boxing, High School fencing and track. He has 10 years of teaching Social Studies, Physical Education & Health and Physics in both the Grammar and High School level.

    He and his wife Cindy have two beautiful blessings; Addyson (Addy) who is in Kindergarten at Arma Dei and Emmanuel (Manny) who will start his journey with Arma Dei in the coming fall.

    Mr. Cáceres, Coach Caz, strongly believes that the corner stones of any good Christian Educator, be it a teacher, coach or parent, are 3 fold:
    - Tradition-what are the histories behind what we do in our school, team or family.
    - Discipline-Immediate response to commands by our teachers, coaches, parents, mentors, etc.
    - Faith-In our teammates, our teachers, coaches, parents, ourselves and in God that He will not always give us what we want but, never fails to provide what we need.

    Coach Caz pledges every day to the Almighty that he will be a firm but fair representative of Arma Dei to each student that he interacts with whether it is on the athletic field, class room or common area. He has been entrusted with the care of your children, no matter what grade nor for how long a period of time and allows the Spirit of The Lord guide his actions. “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:1

    Mrs. Shawn Walker, DPT

    Shawn received a Bachelor of Science in health education and Masters of Physical Therapy from California State University. She completed a doctorate program in physical therapy this summer from Texas Tech University. Shawn is licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of CA and CO, and for 16 years has specialized in pediatrics.
