Cultivating Virtuous Student Athletes Who Exemplify Christ

We aim to provide an environment where student athletes grow by exemplifying servant leadership, sharpening one another through excellence, and cultivating joy through development in every outcome. Athletics serve as a test and exercise for the form of virtue within the world. Within athletic competition, the competitor is to do his best to achieve victory by exercising rightly-ordered virtue.

Grammar

Intentionality in teaching fundamental skills. We focus on the building blocks of the different sports. We train and discipline our young athletes in these foundational skills much like the grammar phase of learning.

Logic

We hone in on the fundamental skills and begin the stages of application. Our athletes learn how to apply these skills in the most advantageous way to have success by putting the skills and tactics into practice.

Rhetoric

Our student-athletes bring developed skills, tactics, and strategies to communicate in their sport. They compete at a level of excellence to achieve victory by exercising rightly-ordered virtues as they exemplify Christ.

Meet Our Athletic Director

Mrs. Tatum Lehman

Mrs. Lehman, a Colorado native, has been a part of the Arma Dei community since 2016. Witnessing God’s fingerprints within the smallest details of the lives of students then gently reminding them of this beautiful truth is her sincere passion.

As a former college athlete with 12 years of coaching experience, Tatum helped launch the Cross Country and Track programs at the start of the Rhetoric School at Arma Dei Academy. She combines her love for athletics and discipleship by encouraging students to pursue excellence as servant leaders and lifelong athletes. Her contagious joy and creativity also shine in the Grammar School, where she leads weekly movement classes that foster both physical growth and community.

Tatum and her husband Eric have four kids and love helping them and others experience the fullness of Christ. They love to hike and fish, travel to new places, and embrace adventure. A rich conversation over a good meal with old and new friends is their favorite pastime.
