At their December meeting, the Board of Directors unanimously voted to move forward with breaking ground for the Phase 1 expansion! Their vote authorizes the groundbreaking, site work, building shell, and the finishing of the main floor. Finishing of the lower level was not included. Click here for floor plans.

Three questions you might have about the board’s decision:

Why won’t the lower level be finished?
In short, we are so thankful for the generosity of the many donors who have helped us get this far, yet there is still a journey before us in order to not only build the building, but also fully furnish classrooms, equip the new spaces with appropriate technology, and provide for other “soft costs” not included in the construction itself. Based on our current fundraising, the board, in its role as trustee for the academy, has committed to finishing the upstairs, deferring the cost of finishing the lower level to a later date depending on the outcome of the capital campaign at year-end.

Does finishing just the main level solve our issues with running out of space?
Yes! At least, it does for the 2018-19 school year. The main level provides enough classrooms to ensure we can return all sections to no more than 16 students. In addition, we anticipate returning all art classes to the art room, all music classes to the music room, and no longer renting any overflow space from Living Way Fellowship.

When will the new building be ready?
LORD willing, it will open for the first day of school in August of 2018. Please pray the project is completed safely, on time, and under budget.
